Policies
Aboutâ
Policies are used to automate the configuration of backup accounts, partially or fully.
They are represented by "key-value" scripts. These scripts use the same format and syntax as the backup agent configuration. This makes it easy to create a manual agent configuration and use it to create a policy.
Applying Policiesâ
The rules for applying policies are as follows:
- Only one policy per account can be applied.
- Policies can be applied only from a parent account to a child account.
- A policy applied to an account is inherited by child accounts.
- In an account hierarchy, policies are cumulative.
- In case of policy conflicts, the highest-level policy key is applied.
- Anything injected by policy cannot be modified by the user.
- Modifying a policy results in its application within a maximum of two hours.
âšī¸ It is possible to force immediate loading of a policy by restarting the target backup agent.
