About Passwords

Why Is It Important?โ€‹

The account password is what guarantees its confidentiality. Indirectly, it is what protects the unique encryption key of each backup account.
Losing the password therefore results in losing access to the accountโ€™s data, and you must then delete the current account and create a new one.
There is no way to reset it, as that would imply having access to the encryption key, which is technically impossible by design.

Do not manage your passwords carelessly!

What the Law Saysโ€‹

  • If you are a healthcare professional, the PGSSI-S guide (available here) states: "Use strong passwords (minimum 12 characters of varied types, no dictionary words or personal references, built for example from a text you know using a method you define)".
  • If you are not a healthcare professional, you have no constraint other than the value you place on your data.
