Technical Prerequisites

Compatibility

The backup management console runs on the following operating systems:

  • Windows 7 SP1 / Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Windows Server 2012
  • Windows 8.1 / Windows Server 2012 R2
  • Windows 10 / Windows Server 2016
  • Windows 11 / Windows Server 2019
  • Windows Server 2022

Installation and Usage

To operate, it requires the .NET Desktop Runtime 6.0 framework. This framework is installed automatically with the management console.

Communication

Summary

The backup management console and the Arx One Backup agent use port 443 to communicate with their servers. Make sure that port 443 is not filtered in any way for the *.arx.one domains.

Details

Machines using the backup service must be able to communicate freely with their associated servers using the HTTPS protocol (TCP port 443).

When using a proxy, it must allow direct access (SOCKS or HTTP tunneling) to these ports.

Proxies performing HTTP tunneling can be restrictive on certain ports (they usually limit access to 443). It is therefore essential to check in the proxy configuration that tunneling is allowed on all ports.

If not, an exception must be configured to allow unfiltered communication with the destination server.

The proxy must support the WPAD protocol for backup client auto-configuration.
