QuickLZ.dll Module Blocked by a Windows Security Mechanism

Context​

Our backup agent uses a ZIP file compression/decompression module named QuickLZ.dll, which is directly integrated into the application.

It is possible that a security mechanism present in your customer's environment is specifically blocking this module. This may include, for example:

  • an EDR,
  • an antivirus solution,
  • or the Windows "Smart App Control" feature,

which can prevent the execution of certain DLLs considered untrusted or unapproved.

Disabling "Smart App Control"​

→ Windows Security
→ App & browser control
→ Smart App Control settings
→ Off
